Dr. Curtis J. Marker, AACFAS
Dr. Curtis Marker is a native of Rockford, Iowa and is thrilled to serve his home community. Dr. Marker completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Northern Iowa. He then attended medical school in Des Moines at Des Moines University, College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery. Following his medical education, he completed his surgical residency at Hennepin Healthcare, a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Maker has extensive training in a wide variety of foot and ankle pathologies, with expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques for correcting hammertoes, bunions, and flatfoot reconstruction. His practice also focuses on sports related injuries, trauma, fractures, ankle arthroscopy, arthroscopic ankle fusion, and reconstruction of tendons and ligaments of the foot and ankle. He also offers treatment for arthritis, total ankle joint replacement, and pediatric foot and ankle care (including trauma, brachymetatarsia, and clubfoot deformities).
Dr. Marker's approach to patient care is rooted in empathy and clear communication. He takes the time to thoroughly explain his findings, review all available treatment and management options, and discuss expected outcomes with his patients. This commitment to an empathetic and collaborative process ensures patients feel informed and supported throughout their care journey.
Dr. Marker is board qualified with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Iowa Podiatric Medical Society, and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
In his free time, Dr. Maker enjoys spending time with this family, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Fun Fact: Before attending medical school, Dr. Marker was part of the East Village Foot & Ankle Surgeons clinical team as a scribe.
